Metamorphoses
2021
I am one of many. And I chose to talk about women, not all but many, using my personal story. When I discovered I was pregnant, I found myself having to deal, in addition to the transformation of my physical appearance, with gender issues related to pregnancy, family, the role of women and individuals in society. The project starts from the theme of the body, the female body, which is increasingly a victim of patriarchy, and then extends to the complexity of relationships. I therefore decided to translate this emotional stratification into images, impersonating 12 different female characters, one for each month of the year.I try to make the observer reflect on the concept of motherhood in relation to the variation of the social context, from privilege to oppression.Uniting two spheres that cannot be separated, the public one, of work and politics, and the private one, of emotions and affections, inviting women to embrace their own story outside of a stereotypical narrative.
